Estudo do desempenho reprodutivo de vacas zebuínas sujeitas a estação de monta limitada para três meses de duração
Resumo
Durante quatro anos registrou-se o desempenho reprodutivo de
cinqüenta matrizes da raça Guzerá, à campo e sujeitas a uma estação de monta de
três meses, tendo como testemunha outro grupo de vacas semelhantes, nas mesmas
condições, porém, submetidas a um período de cobertura de cinco meses de
duração. A porcentagem maior era 3,1% de vacas fecundadas do lote testemunha,
não justificou a admissão de que o período de cobertura limitado a três meses
de duração tivesse alterado significativamente o número de vacas fecundadas.
Study of reproductive performance of zebu cows under limited breeding season of three months

Guzera breeding cows were alloted at randon in two treatments, at the Estação
Experimental de Zootecnia de Sertãozinho, State of São Paulo, where the climate is tropical Savanah type, and the soil is typically red latosol, in order to
compare the reproductive performance of the usual five months length of
breeding season (October to February), versus three months length (October to
December). During four years cows were mantained throughout the year under good
artificial pastures and natural mating, at the rate of one bull per twenty-five
cows. Lenght of the breeding season did not alter the apparent fertility rate
(abortions, stillbirths and calves born), of cows under two treatments.
