Primeiros resultados da aplicação de sêmen congelado de bovinos em gema-tomate (Geto).
Resumo
O presente trabalho é complemento de nota prévia já
apresentada, e traz os primeiros resultados sôbre a fecundação de vacas com
sômen congelado em “Geto”, demonstrando não ter sido prejudicado o poder
fecundante dos espermatozóides. Confirma, também, que depois de 17 meses de
congelamento, o material apresentou excelente recuperação, face à movimentação
da células espermáticas.O poluidor utilizado foi semelhante ao que é adotado para o
sêmen líquido (Geto rotina) e tem por base emulsão de caldo de tomate e gema de
ovo.
First results by the application of deep frozen semen of bulls egg yolk-tomato – Geto.
Abstract
Egg
Yolk—Tomato (Geto) was used without fractionation, as ex- tender for freezing
15 samples of bull semen. Spermatozoa
showed excellent recuperation (motility) 17 months after freezing. Semen of 3
samples, frozen for 7 months, was used for insemination of 117 cows, of which
44 conceived at the first service. Considering all the services a total of 51
pregnancies were confirmed by rectal palpation and latter parturitions. A
conception rato of 14.2 to 62.5% resulted from first services, and for all services
the rate was from 19.0 to 62.5%, The vide range of variation of the conception
rato observed was due to the sanitary condition of the herds, some of them
preveting the obtention of better results. However the study, faced as
preliminary results, showed the possibility for freezing semen using Geto,
which is an extender completely different from the saline solutions and the
extenders universally used. It was demonstrated that spermatozoa showed fertility
capacity for at least 7 months after freezing, and excellent motility when
observed 17 months after freezing.
