Foram utilizados dados da escrituração zootécnica de sete fazendas situadas nos municípios de Araçatuba, Guararapes, Valparaíso, Lavínia e Bento de Abreu, na região Noroeste do Estado de São Paulo. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar a distribuição dos nascimentos de bovinos da raça nobre submetidos à monta natural, permanecendo os touros o ano todo com a vacada, em pastagens de colonião (Fanicum maximum Jacq) . As quedas pluviais (médias mensais) de janeiro a dezembro de 1971 a 1975 foram respectivamente: 199,22; 169,23; 120,16; 55,42; 73,22; 54,99; 45,70; 23,34; 55,27; 119,82; 156,81 e 238,40 mm. As médias mensais de nascimentos, em porcentagem, das sete fazendas, de janeiro a dezembro, no período 1972-1975, foram respectivamente: 6,71; 6,12; 5,68; 5,15; 7,04; 8,83; 9,68; 10,34; 9,99; 10,92; 10,46 e 9,08. Pela análise de quiquadrado, observou-se que os nascimentos distribuíram-se desuniformemente durante o ano, concentrando-se de junho a dezembro.

Data from seven farms herds located at the northwestern part of the State of São Paulo were analysed with the objective to study the concentration of births during the year. In these herds of the Nelore breed, the bulls were maintained yeararound, with the cows in the proportion of 2 .5 to 4%. The grazing was predominantly guineagrass pastures. The average monthy rainfall during the period of study (1971 to 1975) was 199.22, 169.23, 120.16, 55.42, 73.22, 54.99, 45.70, 23.34, 55.77, 119.82,156.81 and 238.40 mm, respectively, from January to December. The monthy average percentage of hirth for the period 1972-1975 was 6.71, 6.12, 5.68, 5.15, 7.04, 8.83, 9.68, 10.34, 9.99, 10.92, 10.46 and 9.08, respectively, from January to December. The Chi-square analysis of the data revealed an unequal distribution of births throughout the year. A concentration of births from June to December is apparent from the data.
